The New Citroën Berlingo received yesterday the award "Best Buy Car of Europe" 2019, best option to buy a car in 2019. The CEO of Citroën, Linda Jackson, who was also distinguished as MANBEST 2019 (MANager BEST - Best Manager), was the person in charge of collecting the award at a ceremony held yesterday in Brussels.
Since 2001, Autobest has rewarded each year the vehicle that gets the most votes. Subject to the vote of 31 specialized journalists from 31 European countries, the models are evaluated based on 13 criteria, among which are value for money, design, comfort and technologies, as well as the quality of the services and the availability of spare parts in distribution networks.
It is the first time in Autobest history that the “Best Buy Car of Europe” award has been presented to the same manufacturer for the second consecutive year. In the same way as the Citroën C3 Aircross Compact SUV, chosen the previous year, the New Citroën Berlingo “Made in Spain” has set itself apart from its competitors and has won this 18th edition of the award, thanks to its modern design, its technologies and its state-of-the-art engines, which has been a real breath of fresh air in the ludospaces segment. This distinction, attributed to the New Berlingo together with the Peugeot Rifter and the Opel Combo Life, joins the prestigious title “International Van of The Year 2019” that the New Citroën Berlingo Van received last September at the Hannover Motor Show.
Citroën's best-seller, the Berlingo is today the second best-selling model of the brand (the first in Spain), after the C3. In total, since its launch in 1996, more than 3.3 million units have been produced. More modern and with the stylistic codes of the latest models launched by Citroën, the New Berlingo is part of the renewal of the brand.
