- The Citroën C5 Aircross Hybrid SUV stands out for being as close as possible to the preferences of the person at the wheel and to the characteristics of the route with three driving modes, which can be easily selected from the center console.
- If the electric mode allows driving with zero emissions, the hybrid mode selects at any time whether the C5 Aircross Hybrid SUV uses its battery, its gasoline engine or a combination of both. The "Sport" mode is designed for people who prefer to get the most out of the performance of their SUV
- With these driving modes, shown in this video, the Citroën C5 Aircross Hybrid SUV offers a pleasant driving experience and totally “Inspired by You all”.
The Citroën C5 Aircross Hybrid SUV responds perfectly to the brand's signature “Inspirëd by you all”. It adapts to the maximum to the tastes of each person and the conditions of the road with three driving modes that can be activated, intuitively, from a control located on the center console.
DRIVING 100% ELECTRIC
By default, people who travel aboard this SUV enjoy the comfort of driving with zero vibrations and zero noise with the mode electric, which is activated if the battery charge is sufficient. Allows reaching a speed of up to 135 km / h without CO emissions2. In this mode, the battery directly drives the wheels through the gearbox for distances of up to 55 km, according to the WLTP protocol. If its capacity runs out, the heat engine automatically kicks in.
When driving in electric 100% mode, a blue indicator light comes on in the center mirror and is visible from the outside. This allows you to identify that you are circulating in electric mode, which is especially useful for accessing restricted traffic areas in cities.
DRIVING IN HYBRID MODE
With mode Hybrid, energy management is done automatically. Its objective is to optimize energy consumption depending on the driving style, so that the vehicle itself manages, autonomously, the selection between gasoline, electric or a combination of both, depending on its efficiency at all times. Thus, at low speeds and in urban environments, it uses electrical energy while, at high speeds, it uses the heat engine, without giving up using the battery if extra power is needed. The same happens if you are circulating with electrical energy and you suddenly accelerate: the gasoline engine kicks in.
DRIVING IN SPORT MODE
Those who prefer a more dynamic style behind the wheel can opt for the mode Sport, which allows you to fully enjoy 225 hp of combined power, the result of combining the performance of the PureTech gasoline engine with the traction of the electric motor, if it is compatible with the traction battery charge. Its operation is reinforced by the exclusive Suspension of Progressive Hydraulic Shock Absorbers®, which ensures optimum behavior on the road.
DRIVING MANAGING AUTONOMY
In addition, the Citroën C5 Aircross Hybrid SUV has two regenerative braking modes: a first level equivalent to that of a conventional engine brake, with the gear lever in position D (Drive), and a second, more dynamic, called B mode ( Brake), which allows you to manage the speed of the vehicle using only the accelerator pedal. In both modes autonomy is recovered with each braking.
In addition, the Citroën plug-in hybrid SUV offers an “ë-Save” function, which allows you to reserve electric range to activate it when necessary, for example, in zero-emission zones.
